Daks AW15 @ LFW

DAKS displayed a clean cut presentation that was defined with all quality. Patent leather was the main feature with a biker look but in such a tasteful and classy way. Red and black patent leather boots, dresses, biker hats on the ladies and overalls for the gentlemen with three inch turn ups brought a formal detail to the edged but classy look. Also the use of the Prince of Wales check with a red overlay for women's trousers was a good touch with black roll neck jumpers, a jumper dress which flowed out into a skirt was another amazing piece, and a complete dogtooth set for the men included shirt, tie, jacket and trousers was another get combination.

A collection which brought street style within the constraints of formality. Casually sleek nothing ostentatious and all wearable it fit and style. Jackets became dresses and Shawls became oversized wraps. a good range of colours used from corals and peaches to greys and blacks. Garments which stuck out the most were the shawl style jacket and the fitted duffer coat slight cropped in pink, portrayed in a sleek slender manner catching the models figure. A strongly understated and very well thought out collection the message was clearly in the details.

A very british style collection, understated in manner, powerful in quality, fabric and construction. Wide lapel long jackets in both the peak and shawl form. all dresses and skirts were long in length and all feature a wrapping effect either on the waist line of jackets, skirts and even on some tops which was a nice finish to all ensembles. This collection really did show off the brands individuality very well.

A collection of evening ensembles which pushed the boundaries of formal one block coloured, one piece dresses and changed the way we looked at things using puzzle pieces designs with the use of velvet and mesh nettings. Some dresses featured a very elegant bare chest look using velvet on one half of the dress cutting across into a gold dusty material on the other half, finished off nicely with leather evening gloves. All evening jackets were slightly oversized but still gave a good strong evening wear look.

This show was very creative as it was based and took influence from overcoats and macs, but made into oversized dresses which was amazing to see. The selection also included torn back dresses with a mac jacket cotton falling attached to the end, satin stripped tux dress with no backing, and also dresses with a bomber jacket style influence. The colours also helped envision the creativity as a khaki green which is normal used for these style jackets was used for these dresses. creatively this show was very artful and the influence was good to see as it was not hidden and infused well within the collection.
